I had my wedding here in April and the entire weekend was magical! It was a weekend wedding, so we had our rehearsal dinner here as well. Jennifer Baldwin (wedding planner), Christine Baskin (owner), and the rest of the staff made my wedding weekend so perfect in every way! Guests kept telling me how much fun they were having and how amazing the food was. The chef did an exceptional job!! The rooms were very clean and beautifully decorated. The staff was so kind and accommodating during the planning process and throughout the wedding weekend! Jennifer and Christine went over and beyond and were a total dream to work with! If you are thinking of having your big day here- look no further!!! You really can’t beat the magical atmosphere, stunning site, and Texas charm of this wonderful venue. My husband and I had the time of our lives and wish we could go back and do it all again at The Retreat at Balcones Springs. We just love it here!!!

I would like to thank you for making our daughters wedding so special. This is the perfect place for a wedding. You offer so much for your quests to enjoy. Everyone had such a great time, they will never forget. Your staff were the best, very friendly and welcoming and there to help with anything we needed. I will recommend you to anyone looking to experience the Hill Country. What a great experience.

My wife and I hosted our wedding weekend at The Retreat at Balcones Springs this past May 2018. Let me save you some time -- we visited a dozen venues in the Hill Country on our quest to find the perfect place. We did, but we never expected The Retreat to have such a tremendous impact on our families and friends. Everyone loved it and can't wait to go back. My 8-year old nephew even included "Balcones Springs" on some art work he did at school (six months later!) highlighting a place that he visited.

While the grounds themselves are truly remarkable, it's the team Christine has assembled there that really brings the experience to life. Caitlyn and Jennifer made our wedding planning experience seamless and as simple as possible. They bring years of event planning experience to the table and calmly/confidently guided us through each step of the process. (Hint: No wedding planner required!) All requests were accommodated; in fact, they pushed us to brainstorm ideas for ways to customize our weekend and make it unique for us and special for our guests. They even added their own touches/surprises -- champagne and a fridge full of topo chico (my wife's favorite beverage) in our honeymoon cabin (overlooking the lake), romantic sweetheart table dining during our private moment after our ceremony, etc. The rest of the staff was professional and effective in executing every detail of our wedding weekend too. In fact, one of our goals was to feel like a guest at our own wedding. Mission accomplished!

The best part was the reactions of our guests. We downplayed The Retreat in order to properly set their expectations for a "camp wedding." The strategy worked! No one could believe that it was a youth summer camp -- both because of the caliber of the cabins and the quality of the food. During wedding season the place is transformed.

And when you host an event there, the place becomes your playground/blank canvas -- we hosted a bonfire-side talent show (with s'mores of course), goat yoga, field day games, frisbee golf, beer burro, slip 'n slide kickball, a coffee truck, ziplining, skeet shooting, lakeside costume dj dance party, etc. There was never a dull moment and you can host your various meals and events in different locations around the grounds.

We knew the venue was important for our wedding weekend, but we never expected The Retreat would leave such a lasting impression for us (or especially our guests)!

We had a wedding at the Retreat in late October for 250 people. It was perfect in every way: the venue was beautiful, the staff was friendly and very helpful. We had the rehearsal dinner, the bridesmaid lunch, a Saturday lunch, and the wedding dinner there, and all the food was delicious. The camp personnel did all they could to make our wedding wonderful. I would wholeheartedly recommend the Retreat for any and all events.
