Had a great time at Dolphin Dock with my dad, got to catch a thirty pounder cobia. Fellas there clearly know what they do and are always helpful. Snacks could be lowered in price. They fillet the fish there for an extra cost, which was helpful since the fish you may catch there are big. Ranging from red snapper to sharks. Definitely a great time every time I visit.
Best trip ever! Would highly recommend this place. Special thanks to Capt. Rollie and his helper Travis. Both did an excellent job. My son an I both caught our biggest fish ever and had a great time thanks to Capt. Rollie knowing where to put out and we never could have gotten them in the boat without there great help. This is definitely where we will be going from now on when we want to catch some big fish and have a good time. Thanks you guys. Ya"ll are the best!
I went on the 4 hour trip. The staff on board was great and very helpful. The cheapest I could find on the island but it did not disappoint. The morning session seemed to have better luck than the afternoon that I took. My group ended up getting 2 bonnethead sharks which I was blessed to have gotten one of them. It was a great experience and will be returning!!
5 star captain, 2 star deck hands.
We took a 5 hour first timer trip for the kids. The captain put us on a hot spot first time we stopped. The only time a deck hand acknowledged my party was when they came by to put others' fish in the box. All 4 crewmen aboard seemed to be drawn to the front to assist 2 pretty young things in short shorts and low cut shirts.
I spent the first 10 minutes with no hook/weight after a break off. We only fish for about 30 or 35 minutes total for the 5 hour trip. The rest was travel time.
My girls caught enough fish for a limit for my group, but most were thrown back dead because they layed on the deck and died before the deckhands showed up. These were some of the biggest fish caught on the boat.
We left with 6 fish, but only 2 were fish we caught. The ones we got to keep were the little culls from other people picking the biggest and leaving their scrap fish.
To be clear, I understand the "boat limit" rule, I just don't like it. I would not be so irritated if we weren't ignored for 45 minutes of fishing and then hammered for tips on the trip home.
We will likely use the company again, but I will make sure to get the help I'm paying for. I won't be so hesitant to holler at the deck hands.
First impression, typical run of the mill chartered fishing trip assumed the deckhands where going helpful but I was blown away with 1. The captain constantly getting us on fish 2. The attentiveness of the staff and overall equality of service that was provided, favorites were not picked every one was handled in a timely effective manner but 3. And for me the real gem was that I took my son for his first trip, the captain had his child as well she was absolutely amazing, knowledgeable, extremely helpful and kind, she helped to teach and make my son feel comfortable. The experience was overall superb money well spent, I will definitely be coming back would highly recommend to any first timers/people with kids or anybody.
